Launching a New Venture in a World of Change: Why I made a (Complete!) Modern Entrepreneurship Course Bundle

The world of business is more dynamic than ever before. From global supply chain volatility caused by evolving trade policies to the rapid rise of artificial intelligence, aspiring entrepreneurs face a landscape defined by constant change. When I created my entrepreneurship course materials in summer 2025, I was tired of using outdated resources that didn't address the real-world challenges my students were seeing every day. That's why I designed a full course resource set for today's world.

Navigating an Unpredictable Market

Today’s headlines are filled with news of shifting global trade dynamics. For example, recent U.S. tariffs have created a ripple effect, causing uncertainty and making shipping costs more chaotic for many businesses. Entrepreneurs can no longer assume a stable, predictable global market. They need to be adaptable and strategic.

My course, BDI3C: Entrepreneurship - The Venture, is structured to give students a clear, step-by-step process for turning a business idea into a professional venture plan. It’s designed to prepare students for these challenges by helping them:

  • Generate and validate ideas that address real-world "pain points".

  • Visualize a business using a flexible tool like the Business Model Canvas.

  • Adapt their plans to changing circumstances, a key activity in Unit 3.

  • Analyze and identify risks and external factors using a SWOT analysis, a core lesson in Unit 4.

The AI Advantage

While tariffs and trade wars create challenges, AI offers incredible opportunities. Artificial intelligence is no longer just for large corporations; it's a powerful tool that is democratizing entrepreneurship. It can help with everything from automating mundane tasks and analyzing data to creating marketing content and even serving as a "co-founder".

This is why my course curriculum is built to be a living document, supported by presentations and companion guides that can be updated to reflect the latest tools and trends. The lessons and activities are designed to teach timeless principles of entrepreneurship, like market research and financial planning, while allowing room for students to apply modern tools and technology to their projects. For example, the course guides students through a comprehensive Venture Plan Report as a final culminating project, where they can integrate their research and financial forecasts using the latest available resources.

By focusing on a strong, fundamental process, this course empowers students to not only understand the current business climate but to thrive within it. They will learn to move their ideas from an abstract concept to a well-structured venture plan, preparing them for a future where a growth mindset, grit, and adaptability are more important than ever. As a resource, I will continue to update it to reflect the modern world.
